ABOUT JAMES
I graduated from the University of Westminster in 1999 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).
Membership of which is contingent upon having completed at least three years study and training in traditional acupuncture and western medical sciences appropriate to the practice of acupuncture. BAcC maintains common standards of education, ethics, discipline, and practice to ensure the health and safety of the public at all times. Members are covered by Medical Malpractice and Public/Products Liability insurance.
Maintaining membership of BAcC is dependent upon continual practitioner development and education.
Since graduation I have gone on to study modern Japanese acupuncture techniques and practice. I have also qualified in the use of laser acupuncture, an exciting new discipline which offers needle free treatment for those patients who cannot, for a variety of reasons, have needle therapy.
As well as acupuncture I also practice massage, and give dietary advice based upon the Chinese Medicated model of dietary therapy and teach meditation.
I practice in central Tunbridge Wells.
ACUPUNCTURIST
Acupuncture is one of the disciplines that form TCM. It involves the use of fine needles inserted into specific "acupuncture points" to stimulate the body's organs and meridian system as identified in the model of traditional Chinese medicine. The purpose of which is to restore harmony and to return the body to health by engaging, supporting and enhancing its natural healing processes.
Moxibustion, the stimulation of energy by the use of burning the herb Mugwort, (artemisia) is often used in conjunction with acupuncture.
